Carestream Dental Doesn’t Just Walk the Talk, it Runs with It

April 9, 2019

When Carestream Dental says part of its mission is “changing lives,” it’s more than a phrase printed on business cards. The company makes it a point to walk the talk—or rather, “run the talk”—and nothing illustrates that better than its support of the annual Dental Dash at Dawn 5K. The walk/run raises funds for DDD Foundation, Inc, an Atlanta-based non-profit that provides specialized dental care for people with developmental disabilities, such as autism, cerebral palsy and Down syndrome.

In addition to having served as the highest tier sponsor of the event for the past four years, Carestream Dental employees also showed how much they care by registering and participating in the Dash. This year, 35 employees and Carestream Dental family and friends arrived before sunrise on Saturday, March 23, to join in the 5K. In fact, the Carestream Dental team took home a coveted gold tooth trophy for best team time, with an average time of 23:26. This is the second year in the row the team has taken first place. Additionally, several Carestream Dental team members placed in their individual age groups.

“The Dental Dash is a great time to see my coworkers outside of work and introduce my family to my work-family,” Raven Wildharber, regulatory affairs manager, Carestream Dental, and longtime participant in the Dental Dash, said. “It’s a great cause and I love getting my children involved in healthy ways to help their community.”

Over all, the 2019 Dental Dash saw nearly 400 participants and raised more than $35,000 in funds to support the Foundation and its mission. You can learn more about the DDD Foundation and how you can help at dddfoundation.org/how-you-can-help.
